Week 26- All good things

This week has gone by so fast! Lots of great things have been happening. I cant believe I've already been out for 6 MONTHS. The time really flies when you're in the service of your God.

First off I've been trying to eat healthier. I've gained too much weight, so I'm going to change that. Someone in one of our wards owns a private gym because they're a Power Lifter, he's huge. So we go every morning to that. And whilst we're talking about exercising, I've been trying to exercise my faith more. I'm trying to work on having more faith in God's plan for me and less faith in what I want God to do for me. It's less selfish and thus a more righteous and worthy goal.

Besides that most of our lessons fell through this week, I'm pretty sure we had a total of 12 fall through. It's definitely been tough, but we've pushed through. Also the extra time we had went straight to finding new people, so we have a couple of fruitful looking prospect.

Then last night we had a few fantastic lesson, those were the only ones that didn't fall through all week, one was on the plan of salvation with these three young women. They're all really sweet. Only one of them has been baptized. The other two are really wanting to be baptized. So we are doing our best to teach the lessons simply for them. But they're all really smart.

Then the next lesson was with P! He has not been baptized, cool thing is that he's read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it, before we even challenged him to. He said he Knows its true, but lacks the commitment to be baptized. So we're praying about that, and that'sgoing to change. We're insanely excited for him. That's about all folks.

Any questions? Any one you know that needs the gospel? If so PLEASE talk to the missionaries. :)
Love you all. Btw, here are some pics of this past week.

There are these Hilarious statues all around my area, so who wouldn't pass up that chance.

Our finished knives. They look great!
Yay for service. We got a referral out of it too!

A sweet photo op we had at Walmart today. See me there in the middle?

IT SNOWED. yay!

A delicious salmon dinner we had, the maker is one of our Ward Mission Leaders, he was a Professional chef back In San Fran before he moved here. :)

Week 25- General Conference!

So if any of you watched general Conference then you'll know how stinking awesome it was!!! The whole conference and all the speakers were completely inspired. It seems like they were all talking to me and telling me that I need to have more charity, so that was way cool! I've learned a lot about charity. My favorite talk was by elder Palmer. His talk really inspired me to behold the good in people and love them more like God does. It was a special moment to realize how much improvement is needed of me to be an effective tool in Gods hand.

Other than that we had a few lessons and taught the gospel of Jesus Christ 3 times, the plan of salvation about 4 times, and the restoration 2 times. It was a pretty productive week. We don't very many service opportunities which is too bad, I wish we got more, I love helping and serving others like my savior Jesus Christ.

Speaking of him have Y'all seen the new Easter Initiative?. Oh it is sooo cool! It perfectly shows a sliver of how much our Savior loves us. Watch it!! Its called #Princeofpeace. It is sooo amazing! Please watch it. I promise you if your heart is open to its message, Jesus Christ will change your life. I promise.

Love Elder Minson

Not too many photos today, I'll get a lot more for next week.

The knife I've been making is almost done, it's looking sweet.

Week 24

So I turned 19 this week. My mission has been the best birthday gift!

Here is the Do-it-Yourself-Birthday Cake my mom sent me:

My cake and some "minionaries"

And here is the watermelon cake some members got me:
My reaction when seeing the watermelon cake :)

Some more pics from this week:
When it rains the clouds bunch around the mountain, and it's pretty.

This is H, she is a sweet young woman, I didn't get to teach her the whole time, but I'm still proud of her for making the choice to follow Jesus Christ.

This is B, I met him once before he was baptized. He's a stud!

This is the birthday tie Elder Pierce gave me, he's a kind soul, if
not a little weird, lol (see him under my arm?)
Too bad this don't happen in Arizona (how do you like my Utahan accent?)
Can you see the deer? They just walk around in the middle of the street here.

Week 23

I have been learning more and more that this mission is not about me. Sometimes I go to lessons, and the spirit hits and I turn my attitude toward the people, and the spirit basically operates my jaw. The mission is the best place in the world, no doubt! My companion is awesome, though we are very similar persons so we tend to get distracted, I've learned a bit about humility from him, he is a great teacher.
We are currently teaching a few people, most of them are people that fell right into our laps. God truly prepared and gave them humbling circumstances. Isn't the gospel awesome?

This district is awesome!! their commitment level blows my mind. Our district is tiny. It is
composed of me, elder Pierce and two other elders, Elder Taylor, and Elder McIntosh.

Week 22

Yay, my sister returns!  Woo hoo! It's so exciting. So it has been kinda difficult for me, because I'm so excited and all for my sister, but I know I need to focus on my Mission, so that's what I'm doing.

The area I got transferred into is Awesome!! It's called Springville West. We cover 3 stakes, so there's is plenty of work to do and people to find.

I guess that's one of the main reasons that the Utah Provo Mission is so successful at baptizing. Not that that's the whole focus of our thoughts, we also spend significant amounts of time trying to
establish the gospel in people's homes, the faithful, less active and nonmembers alike.

But this area has been really good to me so far.  And so has my companion, Elder Pierce! It's a really good change, he is super willing to be obedient. So that is probably the highlight. I feel that our area is going to prosper because of our obedience. Either that or it is going to do terrible because I said that. :) Either way I will do my best to learn the lessons that God wants me to.

But anywho, less about me and more about God. I love you all, and sorry my emails stink. If you want more detail you can email me personally!  dallin.minson@myldsmail.net

Week 21- Prayer is Vital

Oh my goodness people!! I'm getting transferred!! I'm so excited!!!  My new Zone is the Wasatch Zone, Springville area, and my new companion is Elder Pierce. I'm very excited. And holy cow I've already been out 5 months now! But this was such an awesome area! I loved it so much. I'm going to miss some of the people.

So this week has been absolutely fantastic, to start, I got to baptize some one and that was awesome, See the picture below. I baptized the taller of the two. She's a sweet heart, her name is E, her and her sister I've been with through their whole journey. Found, taught, and baptized. It was so special. Although technically we were led to them, the spirit taught them and we just got to perform their ordinance. So that was a sweet experience.

The baptism of E and E
And that was an awesome experience, but I think that what I've learned about prayer is almost as good, for me anyway. It has been awesome. If you think about it, God is up in heaven and could crush this world if he wanted or needed to. But he doesn't, and even more than that he is so interwoven into each of our lives that he desperately desires that we pray to him. So if we do that, if we cry to him morning night and all through out, then much more love do you think you feel. The answer, is life changing. Trust me. Through out this week I've felt more of his love than I have even in my life. Friends, family I plead with you, and beg of you, to call upon you father in heaven more.  I can not express enough to any of you, how important prayer is, better than you could by learning for yourselves. So please for a day, pray as much as you can. Pour your heart out to him. Please! I can promise you that the spirit will be present and the results will bring you sooo much closer to God.

That is my humble testimony to each of you. This church is true, I know it, that's why I'm out here. I love you all.

These weird specs my companion has we got from a family we've been teaching.

Look! I've been trying to learn French again, so I got a French
Book of Mormon.

Look how pretty the snow is! This was last Monday.
