Week 31- Woohoo Mother's Day!

Hi all! My week was great! Clearly it was Mother's Day, so we got to call home! It was such a sweet experience, the time we get isn't very much, but that's okay, my thoughts should be on the work.

Skyping with my family

Right now Elder DeAlba is getting a hair cut, and I'm emailing in case your wondering. Haha but yep this week has been good, our weeks have been very busy with at least 3 lessons a night, some with more, and some where they fell through. But all in all, we are staying busy and that's the point right! One cool thing I've learned is that the spirit does not work in a robot. Be professional not robotic. It is sooo important that we have and show the beautiful personalities God has given us! So fun is important in every day. Not too much because we still have a calling we have to focus our efforts on, but finding fun along the way is sooo important! I'm grateful I've learned that soo early in my Mission, cause I was ready to submit myself to two grueling years of no fun. But now it's soooo much better!

We had two baptismal interviews and one of our candidates isn't ready. I felt so bad for him, but we're going to reprepare him, and have him interviewed again. He'll pass this time!

Week 30

Sorry I didn't really write this week, we've been slammed on Preparation day, but none the less it's been great! Not too much happened this week other than I've learned quite a lot, and I've had to rely on the spirit quite a bit more while I teach, not only my investigators but my companion as well!
I love my mission soo much! The thing that I've learned so much so far is that God loves us with all of his heart, and wants us to be happy. Sometimes that happiness comes through trials through growing and learning. He is much like an earthly parent who wants their child to be happy
but to be the best they can be, so sometimes trials are necessary and important even. With the new calling that I have I learned this through the refiners fire and much-needed stress, LOL.

I love you all so much I want you to know the only best thing in this world serving our heavenly father so much growth so much learning can come from it I love him with all my heart. Also something to look out for in the next few weeks will be having a lot of baptisms, keep an eye out for pictures and just stay aware, also pray for our investigators, please they need it.

I know this church is true I know that the mission is the best place for me right now and for my investigators, I love you all, have a good one!

Also enjoy some pics

LOL these animals are awesome.  I want to stop every time I see a cute animal and get a picture with it. Even if it is weird like the last one!

Week 29

Not too much happened this week friends! But it's very fun being a trainer. Never a dull moment that's for sure! The work in our area is fabulous. Elder DeAlba is awesome, and since I'm soo new as well, he's training me! But we are soo similar. We usually have around 8-10 investigators come to church on Sunday and we've been getting dinner appointments every night except Monday.

We got kicked out of our house by the Zone Leaders, and we got their basement apartment. It's a serious downgrade.. theirs mold and leakage all over the place! Haha! But we understand that it doesn't matter where we live, we're still doing God's work.

Yesterday we gave talks in sacrament. The topic was inviting all to come unto Christ. I mainly spoke about love and charity for God's children. Elder DeAlba spoke about the importance of every member a missionary. I have a love for speaking in church now! And it's a good thing too, because we are going to be speaking a total of 6 times this month! Haha! Wooohooo! One Sunday we will be speaking 3 times! And then another twice!

I appreciate all of you and hope you have a good week!

Week 28- Training!

Soo this week has been pretty swell. Now that I am a trainer there is never a dull moment.
Something I've loved doing is asking questions to help strengthen my companion's faith in the lord. It's sweet to be with someone so determined to share the gospel. My companion's name is Elder DeAlba. He's a studmuffin. He has such a desire to share the gospel, that it makes me want to be better. So in other words I've learned Sooo much and I have a good desire to be better. Training is a huge blessing to not only the trainee but also the trainer.

Also I'm a district leader. So it's been pretty stressful preparing for district training meetings. It's been very draining. Idk I'm learning as I go, and it's very faith building, sorta like jumping off a cliff and trusting God to catch you. So that's been a good experience.
We taught a few really powerful lessons last week. My companion has a really powerful testimony, so it's been cool in lessons. I'm excited for the experience we're both going to gain. One day he will be a very powerful elder, so it's been a great privilege working with him. We have a some people on date for baptism: We have a 13 yr old girl, a 50 yr old man, and two boy siblings set for May 13.
See some pics down below.

Week 26- All good things

This week has gone by so fast! Lots of great things have been happening. I cant believe I've already been out for 6 MONTHS. The time really flies when you're in the service of your God.

First off I've been trying to eat healthier. I've gained too much weight, so I'm going to change that. Someone in one of our wards owns a private gym because they're a Power Lifter, he's huge. So we go every morning to that. And whilst we're talking about exercising, I've been trying to exercise my faith more. I'm trying to work on having more faith in God's plan for me and less faith in what I want God to do for me. It's less selfish and thus a more righteous and worthy goal.

Besides that most of our lessons fell through this week, I'm pretty sure we had a total of 12 fall through. It's definitely been tough, but we've pushed through. Also the extra time we had went straight to finding new people, so we have a couple of fruitful looking prospect.

Then last night we had a few fantastic lesson, those were the only ones that didn't fall through all week, one was on the plan of salvation with these three young women. They're all really sweet. Only one of them has been baptized. The other two are really wanting to be baptized. So we are doing our best to teach the lessons simply for them. But they're all really smart.

Then the next lesson was with P! He has not been baptized, cool thing is that he's read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it, before we even challenged him to. He said he Knows its true, but lacks the commitment to be baptized. So we're praying about that, and that'sgoing to change. We're insanely excited for him. That's about all folks.

Any questions? Any one you know that needs the gospel? If so PLEASE talk to the missionaries. :)
Love you all. Btw, here are some pics of this past week.

Love, Elder Minson

There are these Hilarious statues all around my area, so who wouldn't pass up that chance.

Our finished knives. They look great!
Yay for service. We got a referral out of it too!

A sweet photo op we had at Walmart today. See me there in the middle?

IT SNOWED. yay!

A delicious salmon dinner we had, the maker is one of our Ward Mission Leaders, he was a Professional chef back In San Fran before he moved here. :)

Week 25- General Conference!

So if any of you watched general Conference then you'll know how stinking awesome it was!!! The whole conference and all the speakers were completely inspired. It seems like they were all talking to me and telling me that I need to have more charity, so that was way cool! I've learned a lot about charity. My favorite talk was by elder Palmer. His talk really inspired me to behold the good in people and love them more like God does. It was a special moment to realize how much improvement is needed of me to be an effective tool in Gods hand.

Other than that we had a few lessons and taught the gospel of Jesus Christ 3 times, the plan of salvation about 4 times, and the restoration 2 times. It was a pretty productive week. We don't very many service opportunities which is too bad, I wish we got more, I love helping and serving others like my savior Jesus Christ.

Speaking of him have Y'all seen the new Easter Initiative?. Oh it is sooo cool! It perfectly shows a sliver of how much our Savior loves us. Watch it!! Its called #Princeofpeace. It is sooo amazing! Please watch it. I promise you if your heart is open to its message, Jesus Christ will change your life. I promise.

Love Elder Minson

Not too many photos today, I'll get a lot more for next week.

The knife I've been making is almost done, it's looking sweet.

Working on perfecting the art of the selfie, at my mom's request :)
