Week 20- Priesthood Power, keeps me safe from sin

So this week was really fruitful. Well I guess that it would have been just as fruitful if it hadn't. You know what I mean? I learned a lot, and taught a lot in other wards. The lord has definitely been
strengthening my testimony. It is amazing. Escpically when we get to use our priesthood to give blessings. I think I feel the saviors love most when I do that. But this week you can probably tell that I got to give a blessing to a sweet young lady who had desires but not the capability to stop
smoking. It was an amazing experience, the blessing was not for me, so I do not remember the words which were spoken, but I remember feeling the spirit stronger than ever. My tear ducts just opened up and I became a portable waterfall. But that's not the point. The point is that this church is true. And God gives the priesthood to select few on this earth to accomplish his earthly purposes. It is my solemn testimony to each of you, that God has a intense love for each of us, and I challenge each of you to have more gratitude for the sacred priesthood. Man or woman. We all need it.

 This first picture is of a young man named P. He's a fantastic young man. It was cool to be there in the first lesson and then to teach him all the way through. He was baptized on Saturday.

 This is T. He and J are brothers, but I taught them together, and it was such a cool experience.

 These are the shades that we got. My companion saw the ugliest pair of sunglasses on someone's shelf and they gave them to him. So we had a photo shoot. Haha it was ridiculous. :)

The snow is amazing!!! Hard to drive in, but I'm getting used to it. But here are a few pictures today. This winter has be 5 or 6 times worse than their previous ones. Soo God put me here at a fantastic time!

Week 18

So last week on Tuesday I went on an exchange with an elder, named Elder Pryechepchuk, he is from Ukraine. So we went to two lessons, the first was at 3:30 and it was supposed to be taught by a fellowshipper, but he never showed up so we just taught it. And then the second we taught the word of wisdom to 3 young boys. But in that day we also did some service for Tabitha's Way (a charity that helps feed the hungry.) It was very fun. We usually do that 3 ish times a week for 2-3 hours. But yah, we had dinner in Santaquin at an old folks home, I was sad, cuz we didn't get any pics, but I had fun flirting with the old women. Haha that's the most flirting I've had in 5 months.

But yap that was my day!

I gave a Priesthood blessing on Saturday, and one on Tuesday. Cool story, the one on Tuesday was to a young woman who had a divorce a while back and was going to court last week in a custody battle. She was soo so scared she would lose her baby. But we gave her the blessing and in it, God promised her that if she had faith and would do what was necessary then she would win custody. She was balling after we gave her the blessing, and she was soo so grateful. It's times like those that make me want to do EVERYTHING I CAN to be PERFECT for my investigators. She is an investigator btw. But then the next day! She won custody!! Woohoo!

We have been been focusing on finding, to increase our teaching pool. And this week I learned from my leaders that when you're worthy miracles occur.

Week 17

Things are going great! My Mission is absolutely incredible. I feel that God wants me to be a leader, because I'm really learning how to be patient with other peoples weaknesses. So that's exciting, who knows what he has in store for me. But on an off note my Mission is not about me at all. That is probably what I have learned most thus far. My Mission is about the people that I bring Gods saving grace to. But I can still enjoy the positive effects it has on me too right? Haha

But just to answer a few unasked questions here Are the answers. We do not tract or street contact, if we did we would return home at night with about ten plates of cookies and no work done. The way we do finding is through members, Think of it like this. You own a microscope through which you watch a tiny village of hogs run around. Amongst them and their little toes are a few boars. You can't tell the difference. But the hogs can. So you ask the hogs who their boar friends are, and then you change their little genetic code.. And vwalla that's how we do it.

Haha, btw I like bearing my testimony in sacrament meeting now, weird right? We work with the ones that want to be worked with, and the ones that have work going on in their ward. Our area covers about 3 cities, about 12 miles across, but our zone is only about 4-5 miles across. So a lot of the time we are our of our zone, although still in our area. It's weird. Anywho love you all! Bye for now.

Week 16- New companion

Elder Evans (my new comp,) Elder Petersen (my MTC comp, now in my district) and two sisters in my district.

Because of poor planning I don't have too much time to write you a nice big email today. So woopsie. Sorry. Just know this week has been great and I got a new companion. His name is Elder Evans. He's a stud.  Did I mention that he is a professional magician? Haha it's pretty cool.  I see a lot of me in him. Which is weird, like working with a brother I never had. But it's fun. We are trying to increase our finding efforts by doing family home evening for families on Monday night, no takers so far, but hopefully it will work.  But yah anywhoo. Not much else happened this week, Love you all soo much!! Any questions?

Haha  I thought this was pretty funny, I make omlettes most mornings, and this is the first time I've seen this. Either it's a twin or the process of meiosis had already started. Eh tastes the same. Two for one right?

Week 15

Yay! So lots of things have been happening!

We had 3 baptisms on Saturday!! It was soo amazing! I'm sooo excited for them! The C's are the coolest family ever, we helped reactivate them and baptized their youngest. But they are so faithful and strong now. The joy and fullness they will have in their family is going to be incredible, it's so awesome.

Then we baptized the R's, and their two youngest, the mom is a recent convert.  We talked to the mom about family history and she's really excited to start, they are an awesome family. I'm excited to continue working with them.

Last thing. I'm not getting transferred!! YAY!! My new companion is Elder Evans. I have no idea who he is, but I'm excited to get to work with him. Elder Barron's last day is Wednesday. He leaves at 9 and Elder Evans arrives at 2 so I don't know who my temporary companion will be, but I'm tremendously excited!!

It was blizzarding so bad this morning! It was awesome!

Week 14- Yay for the true temple

Howdy! So this past week has been pretty awesome. We went to the Hari Krishna temple for starters, it is a Hindu temple in our zone. We were invited by the man who owns it. It was cool. But it felt really weird inside. The spirit was definitely not there. But all in all it was a cool experience. They showed us around and told about some things they do in there. And about the history. 

Then last night, We put this awesome Young Woman on date last night! She is such a stud. She is from Russia and lived there for most of her life, but was raised in a religious background. We've had about 2 lessons with her in the past, and both times we asked about baptism, she said that she wasn't ready. This time around we taught about the plan of salvation. And we helped her to have the faith to be baptized! It was soooo awesome! I felt the spirit so strong, and I know she felt it to. Anyway we put her on date for the 25th of MARCH! A great birthday gift 🎁 heehee.

Also we have 4 more baptisms this week and next. I'm sooo excited! So many people are changing their lives around and making promises with God and Jesus.

The baptism we had last Saturday the 14th was E. He basically fell into our laps, some sisters in Bluffdale had been teaching him, then he moved down to Spanish Fork! He was baptized about a week after we met him.. but we really appreciate the sisters for so generously letting us have him. He was confirmed that Sunday in his Young single adult ward. Which also happened to be fast and testimony meeting. So, my companion and I went up to say a few words. This is sort of what I felt impressed to say. 

""As the young adults were passing the sacrament I thought abt the words in each of the prayers. And what I feel impressed to say to you as Young Adults, Return Missionaries, And Couples, If we were always remembering Jesus Christ and his sacrifice, we would always be talking about it. Just like any of you would always be talking about your favorite hobby. But it goes so much further than that, because, like your favorite hobby you are always desiring to improve upon or do it more. So how does that apply to our commitment with Jesus Christ? Well, we owe Jesus Christ that same dedication. He has given us life eternal, he has given us EVERYTHING. So question is, are you taking the sacrament with lightness and frivolity? Or are you REALLY covenanting to God that you will remember Jesus's name always? He should be our dedication, just like we our his."" I felt prompted to end it there. I don't know if I really changed anyone's thoughts or desires to be more committed to Jesus, but I said what God wanted me to. Cool thing was, I was completely comfortable going up there and being bold like that. Haha, I kind of liked it.

Then we went to go watch one of our recent converts participate in Baptisms for the dead! It was so cool. We were very happy for him. Then I got to be the voice for confirming him, it was a really neat experience all around. I love the real temple so much.

 But anyway. That was basically my week. 

Brothers and sisters, God Loves each one of us, he knows our situations, so please please please turn to him, let him guide you, let him love you. In this I solemnly bear testimony, and I do so in the name of Jesus Christ amen.
